Many people mistaken pantry cabinet for kitchen cabinet. Although they have the same storage functions, they are very much different in terms of storage capability, space and size. A pantry cabinet is a stand alone cabinet that stretches about two meters tall and is normally enclosed with two doors. Some specific models have glass panels on the doors to let you see what is stored inside the cabinets.

Compared to kitchen cabinets, pantry cabinets are much larger in size. They also have deeper and bigger storage which are useful for storing large kitchen appliances and plates. They are not so ideal for storing food as the deep storage makes it hard for finding a specific type of food, especially if you stuff all your food into a few shelves. However, this can be rectified with proper organizing methods, which will described in the latter part of the article.

How to Make Your Pantry Cabinets More User Friendly.

As a pantry cabinet has deep storage capacity, the first thing you must do is to create a light colored surface inside the cabinets. This can help you out during your searching process as a light background help you to see more clearly. You can either paint your pantry cabinets, or you can buy laminate finishes and attach them to the interior of the cabinets.

How to Organize Your Pantry Cabinets

A good organization inside your pantry cabinets can help you to find your required items easily. In this way, you will have no problem storing small items inside your pantry cabinets. One organization method is to group similar food categories together on one shelf. For example, you can group dry packaged food on one shelves, and canned food on another shelf. The trick is to divide the deep shelves into smaller spaced shelf .

If you have some many different shelves that you are getting confused over the placement of your food supplies, you can label your shelves to make your job easier. By attaching shelf labels, you can also arrange your food items according to your preferred arrangement, and not by their uses. It takes time for you to get used to the new arrangement, but it is well worth the effort when you have gotten used to the layout. This is when you can effortlessly pick out your desired item from the pantry cabinets without even thinking about the placement.

Apart from using your pantry cabinets to store food items, you can also place your kitchen appliances inside the cabinets. Remove some of the shelves to provide a bigger space for larger kitchen appliances such as the oven. You can even operate your oven inside the cabinet, as a hole at the back of the cabinet is all you need to link the wire to a power supply. Before switching on your oven, you should check the venting requirements to ensure there is no breach of any safety requirements. You need to take note that drilling a small hole at the back of the cabinet might ruin the cabinet for storing food items as it is now exposed to moisture and animals.
