How to Organize Your Cd Collection with the Right Cd Rack
65After a long day at work, you can relaxing on your couch, watching your favorite television show. During one of the advertisements, you hear this familiar song which you adore in the past. You remember the artist who sang the song and started to search frantically for your cd in your massive cd collection but just could not find your cd. Is the above scenario familiar?
Many of us have a large cd collection sitting somewhere at home. They could be on a cd rack, in a cabinet, or lying somewhere in the midst of your garage. If you want your collection to be easily accessible at all times , you will need to formulate some cd rack plans.
Storing cd is not as simple as buying a cd rack and slotting all your cds into the racks. It involves some planning to ensure that they have a good organization method, and fit into the decor of your room.
What do You Need to Consider Before Buying a Cd Rack
Capacity of the cd rack. This is the most crucial factor in selecting your cd rack. I would not advise you to buy small cd racks that can only store a small number of cd. There is a high possibility that your cd collection will outgrow the capacity of your cd rack. Hence, you need to account for any potential future increase in your cd collection to determine the storage volume of the cd rack. It is always better to have a huge cd rack with empty spaces, than having 4 to 5 cd racks with different designs placed in the same room.
Size of the cd rack. There are different types of cd racks which differ in their width and height. Choose something that is more accessible for you when you need to search for your cd. The size of the cd rack should also correspond to the designated area in the room.
The appearance of the cd rack. The cd rack is not only used for storing and displaying your cd collection. They could also be decorative items inside your rooms. Choose a cd rack that can complement the existing design of your room so that it will not stand out like sore thumb.
Different types of Cd Rack
Standing cd Rack. This type of cd rack is the most common and popular rack. They are normally placed standing against a wall, but could also be placed as a free standing cd rack. They have one of the largest storage capacity which boost around one thousand cd for the larger racks. The larger racks normally come with a few vertical shelving attached together sharing the same frame panel.
If you are looking for smaller racks, you can look for the single vertical shelf cd racks. They have moderate storage capacity and is suitable for small rooms.
Spinning cd racks. These racks have a special feature that allow the cd rack to rotate to allow you to search for your cd without moving a step. They are made of four shelves that are facing opposite directions, which are attached to a central swivel.
They have a moderate cd storage capacity, but I have seen a huge spinner that can store around 750 cd, which equates to an impressive 250 cd per shelf. This is certainly going to be a major highlight of the room. If you are looking to add a functional and fun decoration to your room, spinner cd rack is your best bet.
Wall mounted cd rack. They are the most space saving cd racks as they free up the space underneath for easy cleaning and for other storage purposes. You can even add a few display ornaments below the cd rack to decorate the room. These racks have a moderate storage capacity, but can be easily extended by installing additional racks beside the existing cd rack.
